Working alongside a global professional sportsperson, this role will take over the day-to-day operational management of this remarkable Charity.
The charity strives to provide sport and engagement activities to young people to not only provide the opportunity for them to reach their full sporting potential but also to use sport to compliment the development of young people and introduce good principles, values and disciplines.
The Operations Manager will (ultimately) take full responsibility for the operational management of the Charity, it’s administration, activities and it’s facilities. It will provide overall strategic direction and ensure the provision of services which reflect the business needs, strategy and vision.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees and the Executive Chair, the individual will be a highly influential member of the Senior Management Team, ensuring that policies, procedures, activities and services support the strategy and business plan, as well as contributing to the development of the organisation.
The Operations Manager will also work alongside the Board to develop and drive forward the fundraising strategy, inclusive of individuals who fundraise for, through to large scale events.
External communications will be a key focus of the role, both in communicating with donors, supporters, key relationships, schools etc, but also with media and assisting the general promotion of the charity.
The appointee will also take responsibility for the management and development of a number of internally and externally facing team members (team of 7) including Schools Co-Ordinators, Sporting body/league Administrators, finance assistants and Events and fundraising managers, some of which are voluntary.
The appointee will have demonstrable operational and organisational management exposure. They will likely have had direct experience of initiating and overseeing organisational change and an understanding of the elements likely to ensure that change.
They will be an experienced manager and leader, with proven people management skills and staff development expertise. They will have established, adapted and modernised work processes and procedures and have demonstrable experience of integrating new technology into modern organisational processes and systems.
Proven financial and budgetary management expertise and previous experience of managing organisation or departmental finances and budgets would be a great advantage.
They will be a highly capable strategic thinker and planner with a track record in translating strategy and strategic thinking into successful day-to-day operational delivery, whilst being able to demonstrate strong communication skills at all levels.
