Strategic Sales Manager (Director Designate)

c£50,000 plus(uncapped) bonus & great package including equity

Reporting to the MD, the appointee will take responsibility for the all sales development and commercial growth across a national portfolio. They will be responsible for, and take an active part in all functions and performance metrics as would be expected for a business of this nature.

Establishing, developing and monetising customer relationships will be at the centre of this role, winning new business will be the key objective as well as building strategic relationships for long-term commercial gain. Increasing client numbers is critical to the onward development of the business.

The appointee will also be responsible for working with the owners, and in-turn, developing their own team further, adding energy, hunger and strategic/commercial focus, all with the objective of adding profitable sales. A prime task will be to refine/design a clear sales strategy (or rather strategies) and business development initiatives, with support, and spearhead the delivery of them.

Leading new client contact as well as designing and communicating the business development strategy for the group, with management support, will be the key to exceeding expectations in this innovative business; along with delivering it!

Candidate profile and chemistry fit is critical for this pivotal role. Working within a fast-paced, innovative, entrepreneurial environment, attitude is as important as experience. Suitable candidates will be high achieving Sales professionals with either a strong Digital/Web/IT background, or significant technically biased, service/solution sell exposure, preferably with expertise across a number of sectors and markets. They will have a demonstrable customer facing Sales career behind them, but will still have a highly engaged approach, focused on winning new business.

The appointee will also be very well used to working closely with technical/IT/Web Development/Digital delivery teams.

A key requirement of the candidate is to secure new customers, both locally and nationally, promoting the business and building recognition and reputation.

Tact, diplomacy and professionalism are key attributes for this position.

Sales leadership experience within a digital/tech entrepreneurial SME will be critical. Furthermore, the successful candidate will have significant entrepreneurial ability and desire, and be hugely excited by a very high paced environment, thick with USPs – business development strength is underpinned by a real “Just Do It” attitude.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience of the Web/Tech/IT sector(s) or closely complimentary industries
  • Demonstrable success in working within a sales function, liaising closely with technical delivery teams with a constant eye for continuous improvement and innovation, focused on new client wins.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, both internally and externally and appreciation of cultural requirements
  • Ability to tailor communications to the appropriate audience.
