Corporate Sponsorship – Everest Challenge

On 26th June 2016, I am leading a group of cyclists climbing Mount Everest. In Gary Chaplin RMCH Everest ChallengeCheshire.

Our event is based out of Arighi Bianchi (themselves also confirmed as a sponsor), and climbing the 1,449ft climb up the notorious Cat’n’Fiddle run to it’s summit – each run being one-twentieth the height of Mount Everest.

Aiming for an average of 10-12 runs per rider in the 10 hours allocated, we are attempting to climb Mount Everest at least 5 times over.

Initial event details can be found here: http://www.RMCHeverest.com

The event is raising funds for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity, raising money to build a Helipad at the Hospital.

Unbelievably, despite being the UK’s largest Children’s hospital, the Air Ambulance has to land up to 30 mins away at Barton and have a ‘blue light’ road transfer. God forbid it’s my daughter in the air ambulance, but if it is, I would want her there ASAP! The Helipad will get her into the operating theatre within 2 minutes of the helicopter landing. The £3.9m we needed is now just about £600,000 short, so we are really close.

The event is tough. Every rider completing the full day will ride further AND climb more than any stage on this year’s Tour de France.

But compared to the work the Children’s Hospital does, it pales into insignificance.

However we need to raise money!

Sponsorship

Individual sponsorship will help hugely but to really make a difference we are looking for a small number of Corporate Sponsors.

We now have Arighi Bianchi, Oliver SweeneyRyman, John Abbott Flooring, GlobusRecruit VRX and Daffy’s Gin confirmed as sponsors, plus others still to confirm, ….however we are keen to secure more to help reach our ambitious fundraising objectives for this highly worthwhile cause.

Sponsorship Levels

£500 will secure your business logo on our bespoke cycling jerseys (which will be worn byScreen Shot 2016-05-23 at 11.22.01 all registered riders), as well as inclusion in all promotional information. You will also have the opportunity to have banners/information/stand/pop-up stall at the ‘Base Camp’ being hosted at Arighi Bianchi.

£1000 will secure the above plus your branding/business logos along the 7 mile route (event notification and ‘cyclist beware’ signs etc).

Additional Exposure

In addition to the above, the campaign is being supported and sponsored by Theo Paphitis ensuring strong PR exposure. We already have local North-West pressAnalytics interest and have planned for two ‘Twitter Ads’ campaigns, the last of which gained over 1.2 million impressions in addition to organic exposure.

We will furthermore be promoting the event, and its sponsors’ to my own business database, numbering over 15,000 C-Level and Senior Management contacts from across the country, plus inclusion into the Hospital Charity newsletter.

Many Hands Award

The last time I took part in the Many Hands, I won the Many Hands award. This is clearly the aim once again. Our current plan should see us match or exceed the amount raised last time (£15,000), itself more than double what any other event has ever raised as part of the Many Hands campaign. Should we be successful in winning once again, the exposure all sponsors will receive will increase immeasurably through the PR of the awards evening, the press coverage of the event and subsequent promotion.

Aside from all of the above, this is the opportunity to be a part in raising vital funds for one of the UK’s most worthy causes – the UK’s largest Children’s Hospital.
