The Three Peaks Challenge

On 14/15th May 2016, 35 of us completed the Three Peaks Challenge, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden – the three highest peaks in Scotland, England an Wales. And doing it all within 24 hours, including driving between.

Still one of the toughest walking challenges in the UK, the Three Peaks Challenge involves 45km of walking and over 3,000m/10,000ft of climbing in 24 hours.

Less than 20% of entrants complete the entire challenge within 24 hours. We did it in 23 hours 5mins.

We walked to help and fundraise for Charlotte, a beautiful 4 yr old girl, born 8 weeks prematurely. Soon after birth, it was discovered that she had a bleed on the brain which has resulted in her having quadriplegic cerebral palsy. She has no real use of her limbs. But she loves to dance.

The NHS won’t operate on her….but doctors in the US will. We needed to raise £85,000 to get her there.

Climbing the 3 highest peaks in the three mainland countries of the UK was tough. Doing so with 2 disturbed hours sleep in the back of a minibus made it harder….But nothing compared to what Charlotte does every day.
